So I got meself a few minutes before ‘M busy again an’ I thought I’d get this off me chest.

I was thinkin’ over wha’ you said to me ‘bout others not agreein’ with your new way o’ workin’, an’ I wanted to explain to you why they don’. 

You see, you’re goin’ up against the greatest psychological force known to exist, Ego.

It doesn’ matter who you are, a good man, a bad man, an’ in the middle man, you got an’ ego. All o’ us are born with it, an’ we can’ shut it up. It’s tha’ voice in our head, the one we think is our bes’ frien’, the one that guides us an’ gives us our opinions tha’ we think are our own. It’s tha mos’ dangerous thing in us, an’ we forget it even exist.

People thin’ it’s only there when others are speakin’ it, sayin’ it ou’ loud, verbalizin’ it. But we all do it, we jus’ don’ say it, we’re trained not to, we can’ otherwise it’d die.

When you’re goin’ against ego, you’re goin’ against somethin’ so deep in them tha’ they think it’s their soul. The suckiest part bein’ ya can’t do a fuckin’ thing ‘bout it, it’s all them. They have to realize it’s there, they have to beat it away, they have to get over it. 

It’s an unfortunate reality, but it is ours.

The only thing ya can do is try to speak pas’ the ego to the real them an’ hope one day it gets through an’ they realize. Until then, you jus’ gotta keep your own in check an’ take care o’ wha’ you know is right. 

That’s quite a speech, Mr. Macbeth and I’m inclined to agree. It’s their ego that gets in the way, they do not want to admit to themselves that they just may be wrong. That what they are doing is not nearly enough to reach our goals. Not their goals, but my goals as well, we both want the same thing but the only difference is, I am willing to make those difficult decisions and carry the consequences in order to obtain it. The Corps will never be more then trash collectors in the current state they are in, I have simply been trying to help them in the right direction.

Not much you can do ‘bout it, buddy. Jus’ gotta hang in there, yea?
